Tyson was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, by his mom and dad along with his two brothers.  His mom served various communities during her career as a preschool to 5th grade teacher, and his dad proudly served at the 161st Air National Guard at Sky Harbor airport for most of his military career.  It was during Tyson's junior year in high school where he became interested in going into education as he participated in Brophy College Preparatory's Loyola Project.  During this service experience, he fell in love with helping others, and decided becoming a teacher was the path for him to pursue at the University of Arizona.

As Tyson continued his education, he began to appreciate the power of public education and how education can change lives.  And, working in Title I schools and districts throughout his career, he learned how important it is to walk beside those he serves in order to understand where they are at and where they want to go.

Understanding ourselves, embracing our history and passing along traditions leads to developing a holistic environment for individual growth in order to build others...  but, unfortunately throughout history individuals hide who they are in order to keep from being judged.

Years after Tyson's grandmother's passing, he learned about an incident between her and her neighbor.  One day his grandmother was outside and overheard her neighbor speaking about her in Spanish, and to the neighbor's surprise and later all of the family's surprise, she responded to his comments in perfect, fluent Spanish.  With the onset of dementia, his grandmother after years of suppressing her heritage was able to bond with her neighbor through Tyson's great-grandparent's first language that they passed along to their children.  Being a fair-skinned Mexicans in the Arizona Territory, it was safer for his great-grandparents to tell the community at large that they were from Spain as that was more culturally acceptable in a region with much prejudice and racism.

Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon situation and a reality that is being repeated today in various areas around the world as individuals are afraid to tell and live their story for fear of how they will be treated.

This is one reason Tyson has created the foundation of e3 HD  with a need to learn about the individual or organization to build upon their story.  They should not try to rewrite who they are, but rather find support and resources to positively develop their future.
